Public Inspection Notice 2018-19 
The Authority’s accounts are subject to external audit by Paul Hewitson, Director of Deloitte LLP, One Trinity Gardens, Broad Chare, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 2HF.

Members of the public and local government electors have certain rights in the audit process.

From 3rd June to 12th July 2019 between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm any person may inspect the Annual Statement of Accounts, the Narrative Report and the Annual Governance Statement of the Authority, for the year ended 31st March 2019, and certain related documents (comprising books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and any other documents relating to those records) at the address given below. They may also make copies of the accounts, records and documents.

Fire Authority recognised for commitment to learning & development 

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority has been awarded Regional Charter Status for demonstrating its commitment to developing and training Members.

The Award was given by the North East Regional Employer's Organisation and Local Government Association following an independent (on-site) assessment in February 2016.  This Award was first given in 2012 and runs  for 3 years before re-assessment is required. .  The Authority was the first Fire and Rescue Authority in Yorkshire and Humberside to achieve Charter Status.

Lead Member for Learning and Development, Cllr Alice Cave said: "I am proud that the Fire Authority has  been recognised, yet again, for its commitment to learning and development.  Being an FRA Member is a responsible role, which requires additional skills and knowledge.  I should like to thank my colleagues on the Authority for taking the time to develop their role which supports effective and informed decision-making".

Government publishes consultation response on closer working between Emergency Services 

The Government has published its response to the consultation issued in September 2015 - 'Enabling Closer Working between Emergency Services'.   There were over 300 responses to the consultation and this document summarises the findings and outlines the next steps.

The document sets out the Government's thinking, and how the feedback will be reflected in forthcoming legislation.
