Consultation and Engagement

The Police and Crime Panel has no statutory role in consulting the public and it is important that it does not duplicate the role of the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).  However, the PCP can play a role in supporting the process of gathering public opinion.  The PCP can also ask the PCC for information on the methodology approach and results of public consultations.

As part of monitoring the delivery of the Police and Crime Plan, the Panel receive reports on the PCC's public engagement, and how this is helping to increase trust and confidence in the South Yorkshire Police.

Details of how, when and where the Police and Crime Commissioner  will be engaging and consulting with the communities in South Yorkshire can be found by checking the website.
