A key duty of the Authority is to set and monitor the budget in accordance with national and local priorities.

Part of the budget is financed from council tax.

The Clerk and Treasurer is responsible for producing the Statement of Accounts which he submits to the Authority for approval.

The Financial Regulations are a key element of the Authority’s financial control framework.

Getting the best suppliers is an important part of delivering a value for money police service in South Yorkshire. There is a dedicated procurement department within South Yorkshire Police which ensures that public money is spent effectively.

South Yorkshire Police are an Approved Signatory to the Prompt Payment Code

South Yorkshire Police understands that sustainability is about questioning all that we do and trying to reduce our impact to save money and help the environment. By asking ourselves "is this journey/printing/heater necessary?" or "do we need to do it this way?" we can help make a difference. View South Yorkshire Police's Sustainability Web Page
