The South Yorkshire Police Authority has been offering grant funding since 1994/95. Through various initiatives over £10 million has been provided for community projects working across a wide variety of themes and covering the whole county.
The grants currently funded by the Authority include:

- Victim Support
- Drug Arrest Referral Schemes
- Neighbourhood Watch
