South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority to recruit new committee members
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority is seeking three members of the pubilc to serve on its Audit Committee.
Members of the public are being asked to submit applications to work with the committee promoting excellence in governance, financial reporting and performance.
The main purpose of the committee is to oversee the internal and external audit functions of the Authority and to provide independent assurance of its effectiveness of governance.
Applicants will need financial awareness and an ability to question, probe and seek clarification on complex issues.
The Audit Committee meets approximately six times per year, although additional meetings may be called if required.
The position is open to anyone in South Yorkshire, as long as they are not current employees of the Fire Authority. An annual allowance will be payable and travel expenses will be reimbursed.
