Transport Authority seeks members of public

South Yorkshire Integrated Transport Authority (ITA) is looking to recruit a member of the public to serve on its Standards Committee.

The role of the committee is to promote and maintain high standards of conduct amongst Authority members and compliance with the member Code of Conduct.  It is also responsible for considering complaints that a member has breached the code.

Made up of three independent members and three Authority members, the Standards Committee meets approximately four times a year.

Independent members are paid an annual allowance of £451, plus expenses, for attending the meetings.

South Yorkshire Integrated Transport Authority is made up of 12 people drawn from the elected members of local councils in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.

The Authority co-ordinates and promotes the use of public transport in South Yorkshire.
